Our convenient location allows you to visit the charmingly revitalized Madrid, the ‘Woodstock of the West’, a coal mining ‘ghost town’ turned artists’ mecca, filled with history, funky eateries, and unique shops. A stone’s throw away are the historic ‘ghost towns’ of Cerillos, Golden, and Waldo, as well as some of the best horseback riding around.

Drive through our gates and across State Road 14 onto County Road 42, and you’re on your way to historic Galisteo, home to early pueblo-style dwellings and the world famous ‘Light Institute’.

Take a short drive north on 14 and visit Santa Fe’s renowned Plaza. Known for its world class restaurants and Southwestern cuisine, Santa Fe is a wonderland of shops, museums, Native American handicrafts, laid-back nightlife, and some of the oldest, most awe-inspiring architecture in North America.

Back roads often lead to glorious scenery and great discovery. Visit the magnificent summit of the Sandia Mountains, Sandia Crest (10,678 ft). The view from the summit observation deck is awesome! Venture into the Sandia Mountain Wilderness and hike through aspen glades and across flowering meadows; discover one spectacular view after another. Year round recreation includes Alpine skiing in winter at Sandia Peak Ski Area and a relaxing scenic chairlift ride gliding over the Cibola National Forest during summer-winter months.

So whether you’re an armchair naturalist, avid hiker, or someone in need of sanctuary from our mad world ~ our staff will be only too happy to assist you in planning your days and nights so that you can enjoy your stay in this ‘land of enchantment’ to its fullest.
